Teresa Njoroge was a high-flying banker but in April 2008, while undertaking her routine assignments at work, one of the clients she served that day was to be the one who would alter the course of her life forever. He was a fraudster and she was arrested in connection with the loss of Sh9.8 million. Teresa now uses her financial knowledge and skills to help ex-convicts establish and run sustainable businesses

On March 4, 2011, exactly four years ago tomorrow, 37-year-old Teresa Njoroge’s world came crumbling down. On that day, she was the centre of attention for a battery of journalists who were elbowing each other as they struggled to get the best shot of the tall, light-skinned, well-educated, articulate and sophisticated beauty whose new home was to be the Lang’ata Women’s Prison in Nairobi.
